LG Assures Retention of NIT Pulwama as Social Activist Mudasir Dar Submits Memorandum

 

Srinagar, January 12 (KNS): Social activist and President Awardee in World Scouting, Mudasir Dar, met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday, advocating for the retention of the proposed National Institute of Technology (NIT) at Newa, Pulwama.

Representing a broad coalition of educators, traders, sportspersons, religious leaders, and civil society members, Dar submitted a memorandum of demand urging the government to ensure a balanced and inclusive approach in land acquisition. The initiative was backed by renowned figures, including educationist Prof. Ab Hamid Sheikh, Fayaz Wani, Vice-President Pulwama Traders Association, Molvi Aijaz Noori, Religious Leader, Owais Yaqoob, International MMA Fighter, Altaf Ahmad Bhat, Chairman J&K Civil Society, Shariya Manzoor, National Boxer, Javaid Sofi, Prominent Journalist, and others from various sectors.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha assured Dar that the NIT project would remain in Pulwama, reaffirming the government’s commitment to equitable development and youth-centric progress in the region. (KNS)
