Srinagar, Sep 26 (KNS) Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday commended the Armed Forces Medical Services for conducting a mega eye surgical camp under 'Operation Drishti' at Tangdhar in the Karnah sector of north Kashmir, where 220 people regained vision through surgeries performed in an underground operation theatre in a shelling-prone border area.
In a post on X, LG Sinha said, "Kudos to surgeons & personnel of Armed Forces Medical Services for successfully conducting Mega Eye Surgical Camp under Operation Drishti at Tangdhar, Karnah."
"Restoring sight to 220 people in underground operation theatre in a challenging border area is a remarkable achievement," he said, describing the effort as a testament to the forces' commitment to public welfare.
The Lieutenant Governor said the dedication of the medical team, led by Brig.

"Bringing advanced eye surgeries, including phacoemulsification, retinal and glaucoma procedures, to remote border hamlets ensures that no citizen is left behind,"LG Sinha said.
Nothing, Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth on Friday reviewed the operational preparedness of forward formations along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir and visited the camp, where 220 sight-restoring surgeries were performed over two days.
The camp, organised under 'Operation Drishti', saw specialist military doctors conduct advanced procedures despite challenging security and terrain conditions in the border region. (KNS)
