LG reviews smart city and PWD projects in Lal Chowk, focuses on timely completion

 Srinagar, Oct 25 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha toured the Lal Chowk area on Friday to assess the ongoing work under the Smart City project and the Public Works Department (PWD) initiatives. The LG was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, V.K. Bidhuri, and other senior officials.

During the visit, Divisional Commissioner  VK Bidhuri updated the media on project progress, highlighting the administration's commitment to ensuring timely completion.

He said "LG reviewed the progress of the projects, with particular attention to adhering to timelines. For instance, we anticipate the completion of the Cement Kadal by December. Despite the winter season, the bridge will be opened for traffic to ease congestion, though further asphalt work will be completed in the  coming time.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
PWD has assured us that the work will progress according to schedule," said Bidhuri.

Additionally, major developments are expected in the Lal Chowk area, with major enhancements planned as part of the city’s Smart City vision. These improvements aim to modernize infrastructure, streamline traffic flow, and create more pedestrian-friendly spaces in one of Srinagar’s most prominent areas.

With the review of these projects, the administration aims to maintain momentum on critical infrastructure work, ensuring that Srinagar’s transformation continues without delay, Divisional Commissioner added. (KNS)
