Srinagar, June 28(KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of Jammu and Kashmir flagged off the first group of pilgrims on the Amarnath Yatra from the base camp in Jammu.
Before the departure, he participated in a prayer ceremony at the temple.
Speaking to reporters afterward, he mentioned the significant preparations made by the J&K administration over recent years to ensure a smooth yatra.
Thousands of pilgrims have gathered in Jammu for the journey, and the first group will travel under heavy security in a convoy to the Pahalgam and Baltal base camps, from where they will begin their pilgrimage to Amarnath.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Security measures include CCTV installations along National Highways, aimed at managing traffic and enhancing safety for pilgrims.(KNS).
