Light Rain, Thundershowers Likely at Isolated Places in J&K: Met Department

 
Srinagar, Apr 22 (KNS): The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Monday issued a fresh weather update for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting light rain, thundershowers, gusty winds, and occasional hailstorm at isolated to scattered places during the coming days.

According to the forecast, a brief spell of light rain, thunder, or gusty winds is expected at isolated places on April 22. The weather is likely to remain generally dry on April 23. However, between April 24 and April 26, there are chances of thundershowers during the afternoon at isolated to scattered locations, which may be accompanied by gusty winds and hailstorm at some places.

"Overall, no major weather activity is expected till the end of April, except for light rain or thundershowers during the afternoons on April 22, 24, 25, and 26," the statement said.

Meanwhile, the department has issued an advisory for the public and farmers. "All concerned are advised to follow administrative and traffic advisories, especially during the expected weather disturbances," it said. Farmers have been advised to resume their field operations from April 22 onwards, as no prolonged wet spell is expected during this period.
