LSG Aim for Redemption Against SRH After Last Season’s Collapse

Srinagar March 26 (KNS): Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and KL Rahul parted ways despite two playoff finishes in 2022 and 2023, and their split may trace back to a crushing defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) last May. That night, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma dismantled a modest 165-run target in just 9.4 overs, exposing LSG’s vulnerabilities.

Now, ahead of their clash in Hyderabad, LSG enter with a revamped squad, aided by a timely mega auction. However, injuries continue to plague their bowling lineup. Only Ravi Bishnoi and Ayush Badoni remain from last year’s encounter, while the attack relies on a mix of two pacers and four spinners. Their performance against Delhi Capitals showed promise but lacked consistency—something they can't afford at a high-scoring venue like Hyderabad.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

SRH, on the other hand, have retained their core and remain a dominant force at home, having lost just once in their last seven matches. With Head and Abhishek in top form, LSG’s bowlers face a stiff challenge. Meanwhile, their batters must ensure they don’t repeat the mistakes from their last game, where they crumbled late and lost momentum.

Though early in the season, this game offers LSG a chance to make a statement. A victory against last year’s finalists, despite their setbacks, could mark the beginning of a fresh chapter.(KNS)
