Srinagar, Nov 06(KNS): Manzoor Wangnoo, Chairman of the Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation (NLCO), received the Environmental Activism and Action Award.

The award was presented by Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister, along with MLA Gulmarg, Jinab Farooq Shah, Dr. Prof. Shakil Romshoo, Vice Chancellor of IUST, and other notable figures.

The ceremony, organized by the People’s Environmental Council (PEC), was held at Amar Singh Club and brought together environmentalists and other personalities committed to sustainable development.

Wangnoo expressed gratitude to the Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Farooq Shah, and the PEC, particularly its chairman and convenor, for the recognition.

He also congratulated Dr. Kangoo, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award, for his contributions to environmental stewardship.

The People’s Environmental Council Forum focuses on raising environmental awareness and promoting conservation. Wangnoo’s efforts in lake conservation and sustainable initiatives continue to inspire others in Kashmir to become advocates for the environment.
