Mehbooba Blames BJP for Failing to Eradicate Militancy in J&K

Srinagar, July 20(KNS): People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, criticized the government’s approach to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, asserting that despite government claims, militancy has not been eradicated and has even spread to previously peaceful areas.

The PDP chief who made these remarks after former trade union leader Khurshid Alam rejoined the PDP, also criticized the BJP regarding a recent directive from the Muzaffarnagar administration in Uttar Pradesh that requires shop and kiosk owners to display their names.

she claimed that the BJP and its central government aim to undermine the Constitution of India, which ensures equal rights for all individuals. She noted that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had previously warned that the BJP might alter the Constitution if they retained power

According to Mehbooba, the BJP’s policies initially target Muslims, with potential future implications for Dalits and other groups.(KNS).
