Srinagar, September 8 (KNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday reviewed the progress of construction of mini-secretariat buildings at district headquarters across Jammu and Kashmir and directed officials to remove bottlenecks and ensure work on stalled and new projects begins within a month.

Chairing a meeting at the Civil Secretariat to review languishing projects under the Revenue Department, Omar expressed displeasure over delays in completion of ongoing buildings as well as in project planning, obtaining approvals and execution of new projects.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner Revenue Shaleen Kabra, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Shailendra Kumar, Secretary Revenue, Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir and Deputy Commissioners of several districts, besides other senior officers.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister was briefed on the status of ongoing mini-secretariat projects at Mendhar, Poonch, Rajouri and Akhnoor in Jammu division and Tral, Dooru, Batamaloo and Tangmarg in Kashmir division.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Taking serious note of the slow pace of work, Omar directed the concerned departments and district administrations to take all necessary measures to address bottlenecks and ensure commencement of work on stalled and new projects within one month.

He stressed the need for time-bound execution and directed officials to strictly comply with the decisions taken during the meeting.

The Chief Minister also called for standardisation of works and facilities across all mini-secretariats, saying the administrative complexes should have uniformity in design and functionality while providing improved services and facilities to staff and the public across districts.

The Revenue Department was tasked with taking the lead role in granting necessary approvals and allocating funds for the projects.(KNS)
