Mankote, September 14: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, Monday addressed party workers of Block Mankote and members of the public during a public gathering in the area.

During his address, the Minister apprised the party workers and the general public about the various development projects, works and schemes presently under execution in the area. He also highlighted the new schemes and projects that have been approved or proposed for execution during the current financial year 2026–27.

The Minister said that sustained efforts are being made to ensure comprehensive and balanced development of the Mankote area, with special focus on strengthening basic infrastructure, improving public amenities and creating new opportunities for the local population. He called upon party workers and the public to actively participate in the development process and ensure effective implementation of government schemes at the grassroots level.

While interacting with the media, Javed Ahmed Rana highlighted the importance of preserving the rich cultural and religious heritage of the region. He informed that an amount of ?173 lakh has been earmarked for the development of the historic Ramkund Temple, a prominent heritage and religious site in the area.

Similarly, ?78 lakh has been provided for the development of Lower Devta, while ?Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel86 lakh has been earmarked for the development of Chotey Shah. The Minister said that these places hold immense religious, cultural and heritage significance and attract a large number of pilgrims and visitors.

Emphasizing the tourism potential of these heritage and religious sites, the Minister said that their systematic development will not only help in preserving the region’s invaluable heritage but will also promote religious and heritage tourism in Mankote and adjoining areas. Improved infrastructure and better facilities for pilgrims and visitors will enhance the tourism potential of the region and generate opportunities for local employment and economic activities.

Javed Ahmed Rana said that the Government is committed to promoting tourism by developing religious, cultural and heritage destinations across the region. He added that the development of Ramkund Temple, Lower Devta and Chotey Shah will help place these important sites on the tourism map and encourage more visitors to explore the rich heritage and natural beauty of the area.

The Minister reiterated the Government’s commitment towards ensuring inclusive and sustainable development and said that efforts would continue to bring development to every village and every section of society.(KNS)
