Srinagar, Jan 11 (KNS): Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq and Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam paid heartfelt tributes to Allama Rasool Shah Sahib (RA) on his 116th death anniversary. Known as the “Sir Syed of Kashmir,” Allama Rasool Shah was a pioneer of modern education and a prominent religious scholar who founded the Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam over a century ago.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq highlighted the late Allama’s invaluable contributions to religion, education, social reform, and public welfare. He praised Allama Shah’s efforts in uplifting the Kashmiri people from ignorance and poverty, calling them a shining chapter in Kashmir’s history.

On this occasion, a Quranic recitation and special prayers were held, with participants praying for Jannat-ul-Firdous for Allama Rasool Shah (RA), his companions, former presidents, teachers, and supporters of the Anjuman. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to educating underprivileged children and guiding them toward understanding their rights and responsibilities.(KNS)
