Srinagar, Dec 23 (KNS): Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr. Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of the renowned Kashmiri poet, writer, and broadcaster, Mr. Abdul Ahad Farhad.
In his condolence message, the Mirwaiz paid glowing tribute to the late Abdul Ahad Farhad for his long and distinguished services to the Kashmiri language and literature, as well as to broadcasting institutions. He said that although he himself had several meetings with the late Farhad, the latter shared especially close, brotherly, and affectionate relations with Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir. At every important juncture, the late Farhad, along with his colleagues, would regularly visit Mirwaiz Manzil to meet the martyred leader and to conduct special interviews.
The Mirwaiz described Farhad’s demise as a great loss to language, literature, and Kashmiri identity. He expressed condolences to the bereaved wife, daughters, and other family members of the deceased, and prayed to Almighty Allah to grant them patience (Sabr-e-Jameel) and to bless the departed soul with a place in Jannah.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
On the occasion, the Mirwaiz also expressed condolences over the passing away of several long-time associates from the old city, including the wife of the late Ali Mohammad Khar of Wazah Pora, S.R. Gunj; the late Bashir Ahmad Khar of Wazah Pora, S.R. Gunj; and the late Ghulam Nabi Agha of Shalteng, EJM. He conveyed sympathy to the sons of the deceased—Khursheed Ahmad Khar, Mushtaq Ahmad Khar, Haziq Bashir, and Mukhtar Ahmad Agha—and offered special prayers for the forgiveness of the departed souls.
On the Mirwaiz’s directions, separate delegations visited the homes of the bereaved families to convey his message of condolence and sympathy, offered prayers for the departed, performed Isal-e-Thawab, and recited Fateha.(KNS)
