Gulmarg, April 16 (KNS): MLA Wagoora Kreeri, Irfan Hafiz Lone, has voiced serious concerns over the deteriorating environmental conditions in Gulmarg, a world-renowned tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir. During a recent visit, Lone was shocked to find a once-pristine water channel turned into a garbage dumping site.
“Visits to such places are meant to be healing experiences,” Lone remarked, “but we have unfortunately turned them into health hazards.” He criticized the concerned authorities for their negligence, highlighting the growing mounds of plastic waste, litter-strewn trails, and polluted water sources that now mar the natural beauty of Gulmarg.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Lone emphasized that the environmental degradation not only ruins the experience for visitors but also poses severe risks to the fragile ecosystem. He urged the Chief Minister to intervene and take immediate and effective measures to restore the ecological balance of Gulmarg and safeguard its future as a premier tourist destination.
The MLA's call for action comes amid increasing concern from environmentalists and locals alike, who have long warned about the consequences of unchecked pollution and poor waste management in the region.(KNS)
