Months After Appointment, No Posting: Assistant Professors Demand Action

Srinagar, May 27 (KNS): A group of newly appointed Assistant Professors from various disciplines, including Home Science, Education, Political Science, and others, have raised serious concerns over the inordinate delay in the issuance of their adjustment orders, despite having received formal appointment letters from the Higher Education Department.

Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the affected candidates expressed their growing frustration over the prolonged wait, which they claim has left them in a state of professional limbo and financial hardship.

“We were overjoyed when we received our appointment orders after going through the rigorous recruitment process. However, the delay in adjustment by the nodal principal offices in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions has crushed our hopes,” said one of the appointees. “Many of us have been waiting for months without salaries, which has affected our ability to support ourselves and our families.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

According to the newly appointed faculty members, the uncertainty has not only caused personal distress but also delayed their contribution to the academic system at a time when higher education institutions in the Union Territory are in need of qualified teaching staff.

Repeated representations and appeals to the concerned authorities, including the Directorate of Colleges and the administrative heads, have reportedly gone unanswered. The aggrieved appointees are now urging the Higher Education Minister and the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir to personally intervene in the matter.

“We request the administration to expedite the adjustment process so that we may join our respective institutions and begin our duties. We are eager to contribute to the academic growth of the region,” the group added.(KNS)
