Most Ideological Goals Achieved in Last Decade: Amit Shah

Ahmedabad, Jan 23 (KNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Thursday that the Narendra Modi government has achieved "almost all" its long-pending ideological goals, including the abrogation of Article 370, and remains committed to continuing along this path in its third tenure. Shah was addressing the audience during the inauguration of the Hindu Spiritual & Service Fair, or `Hindu Adhyatmik Seva Mela,' held at Gujarat University grounds.

Shah remarked that there was a time when Hindus hesitated to express their identity openly in their own country, a situation he said has transformed over the past decade.

"Over the last ten years, our government has completed key ideological tasks such as the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the abolition of triple talaq, and the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC)," Shah said.

While the UCC is yet to be implemented nationwide, BJP-ruled Uttarakhand has taken the lead, and Shah recently assured the Rajya Sabha that it would be extended to other states. He emphasized that while the Modi government has completed these goals within a decade, previous governments had ignored them for 70 years.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Shah expressed confidence in the government’s resolve to continue in the same direction in its third term.

Highlighting the nation’s cultural achievements, Shah noted that 170 countries had embraced Yoga, and during the G20 Summit, global leaders paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He also mentioned the government's efforts in retrieving nearly 350 stolen idols of Indian deities from across the world.

Discussing the Hindu Adhyatmik Seva Mela, Shah praised the contributions of Hindu temples and organizations in areas such as tribal education and healthcare for the underprivileged, despite their lack of self-promotion. He credited the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for uniting these service-oriented groups under one platform through the fair, which features around 200 stalls showcasing such initiatives.

Shah also lauded Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, the 18th-century ruler who restored approximately 200 temples, including Somnath, that were destroyed by invaders, as an example of Hindu contributions to preserving the nation’s spiritual heritage.(KNS)
