New Delhi, Feb 11 (KNS): Incarcerated Member of Parliament from North Kashmir, Engineer Rashid, has called for a time-bound investigation into the recent twin deaths in Jammu and Kashmir, urging the government to take strict action against those responsible.
Speaking in Parliament for the first time while on a two-day parole, Rashid raised concerns over the killings of truck driver Waseem Mir from Baramulla and Makanu Din from Kathua. He asserted that Kashmiris have the right to live with dignity and that their blood should not be treated as cheap. He demanded justice for the victims and accountability for those involved.

He stated that improved infrastructure would significantly benefit the residents of these far-flung regions, ensuring better transportation, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
Engineer Rashid, an independent MP from North Kashmir’s Baramulla constituency, has been in jail since 2019 under charges related to terror funding. His temporary parole allowed him to participate in parliamentary proceedings, where he used the opportunity to voice pressing issues concerning the people of north Kashmir. (KNS)
