Jammu, Mar 03 (KNS): Former Speaker and MLA Eidgah, Mubarak Gul, has urged the government to provide free medical treatment and transportation services for former legislators of Jammu and Kashmir, similar to the benefits offered to ex-parliamentarians.
Speaking during obituary references on the first day of the budget session, Gul highlighted the challenges faced by former lawmakers in resuming normal lives due to security concerns.
"A former legislator cannot engage in routine business or sit in a shop without risk.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAnyone can attack him. This is the reality of the situation," he said, stressing the need for a comprehensive support mechanism.
He further pointed out that many states and even Parliament extend free medical and transport facilities to their former members and demanded a similar arrangement for J&K’s ex-legislators. (KNS)
