Srinagar, Sep 08 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference Senior Vice President and Habba Kadal candidate, Muzaffar Shah, carried out an extensive public outreach campaign in the constituency today as part of his electoral efforts for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Joined by party leaders and supporters, Shah led a comprehensive door-to-door campaign, engaging directly with locals in the heart of the Habba Kadal constituency, listening to their concerns and offering assurances of forthcoming change.

Addressing media personnel, Muzaffar Shah emphasized that the people of Habba Kadal have endured years of neglect and poor governance.

"Despite electing local representatives time and again, their plight remains the same. The conditions here are nothing less than a tragedy," he stated.

He further described the inner lanes of Habba Kadal, noting they still resemble the dilapidated state of the Maharaja era, with no tangible signs of development.

"I encountered families living in direly congested homes, several crammed under a single roof. This starkly reflects the neglect and apathy of those who have previously been at the helms in Habba Kadal. It pains me to see how much these people have suffered, trusting their leaders only to be betrayed repeatedly.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelBut that ends today," he remarked.

Shah also expressed grave concern over the escalating unemployment crisis among the youth, saying, "The lack of job opportunities is driving the youth of this area into the abyss of drug abuse. This situation is intolerable and needs immediate rectification."

He went on to criticize the current administration’s Smart City project, questioning its priorities: "What is the purpose of a Smart City when its residents are left struggling without a dignified livelihood? Families here are unable to afford two proper meals a day for their children, yet they are burdened with electricity bills ranging from ?2,500 to ?2,800 per month."

Concluding his tour, Muzaffar Shah extended his gratitude to the people of Habba Kadal for their warmth and hospitality, while making a firm pledge to bring meaningful change.

"I was deeply moved by the kindness and welcome I received from the people today. I assure them that by voting for ANC, they will witness real and substantial change. Just as we continue to stand unwaveringly for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370, we will leave no stone unturned to alleviate the suffering of the people of Habba Kadal and beyond."(KNS)
