Srinagar, June 15 (KNS): On a warm summer morning, the historic corridors of Biscoe School in Srinagar buzzed with excitement and anticipation. The reason for the fervor was the launch of a much-anticipated book, “Biscoe Boy’s Echoes of Time,” authored by Nazir Ahmad Khan, a distinguished alumnus of the institution.
The book chronicles the unique experiences and enduring legacy of the school, besides Mr Khan’s life history. It generated considerable buzz within the participants, including Khurshid Ahmad Ganie, (IAS), who was the chief guest on the occasion and released the book.
The event was set in the school’s auditorium, a place that had witnessed countless assemblies, plays, and celebrations over the decades. Students, teachers, alumni, and esteemed guests filled the hall, eager to celebrate the latest contribution to the school’s rich literary tradition.
While speaking on the occasion Khan briefed the audience how he spent years meticulously gathering stories, photographs, and anecdotes that painted a vivid picture of life at Biscoe School and beyond. He began by sharing his journey of writing the book, recalling his days during 1940’s at Biscoe School and the profound impact it had on him.

He read excerpts from the book, bringing to life tales of friendships forged, challenges overcome, and lessons learned both inside and outside the classroom. His words painted a vivid picture of the school’s ethos—its emphasis on holistic education, character-building, and community service.
Khan also paid homage to the educators who had left an indelible mark on his life. “Our teachers were more than just instructors; they were mentors and guides who shaped our characters and broadened our horizons,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Khurshid Ganie said Khan’s book was an inspiration for students of the School. “The book is a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of resilience and excellence that Biscoe instilled in its students,” he said.
“This book captures the essence of an era, bringing to life the stories and experiences that have defined the lives of many who walked the corridors of Biscoe. Through Khan sahab’s vivid storytelling, we are transported back in time to witness the challenges and triumphs of Biscoe boys, making us appreciate the institution's role in our society even more,” Ganie added.
