Srinagar, Feb 13(KNS): SSP Srinagar Imtiyaz Hussain on Thursday highlighted the importance of public awareness regarding the newly introduced criminal laws, stating that the shift from the Indian Penal Code to the Indian Justice Code marks a transition from punishment to justice.
Speaking at an awareness program organized by the State Institute of Education in collaboration with the district police and administration, SSP Hussain highlighted the government's commitment to making the legal system more transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric. The event was attended by heads of educational institutions from Srinagar and other areas.

When asked about integrating these legal updates into colleges and universities, he said he could not confirm any plans but acknowledged the need for legal education among students. (KNS)
