Srinagar, 24 July (KNS): The hi-tech linear accelerator (TruBeam) machine installed in the Radiation Oncology department of GMC Srinagar is fully functional. Linear Accelerators, also known as linacs, are devices used to treat cancer, most commonly for external beam radiation treatments. Due to the unprecedented rise in temperatures and to ensure the optimum functioning of the machine, patient treatments are now being conducted from 5 am. This schedule accommodates the 50-55 patients receiving this treatment daily.
