Srinagar, Sep 5 (KNS): Former minister and Apni Party senior vice president Ghulam Hassan Mir on Saturday extended greetings to the teaching community in Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of Teachers’ Day and demanded that the government address their genuine concerns with empathy and fairness.
Mir said teachers are the backbone of the education system and play an indispensable role in shaping the future of society, adding their contribution must be recognised through dignity, job security and a fair working environment rather than measures that create uncertainty among them.
“Teachers deserve respect, not punishment in the guise of TET.

The former minister urged the government to engage meaningfully with the teaching community and resolve their legitimate demands at the earliest.
“On Teachers’ Day, the best gift the government can give our teachers is not merely words of appreciation, but justice, dignity, security and a firm commitment to protect their future,” he added. (KNS)
