On First Day, Omar Abdullah directs for no ‘green corridor’ or traffic stoppage during his movement

 Srinagar, October 16 (KNS ) On his first day as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah has set the tone for his administration by prioritizing the comfort and convenience of the public.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Abdullah shared his instructions to the Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir.

He explicitly stated that there should be no “green corridor” or traffic halts during his road movements, a practice often used for VIPs that causes disruption for ordinary citizens. He further directed that the use of sirens should be minimized and that police should avoid using aggressive gestures, such as waving sticks, during these movements.

Abdullah’s post read: "I have spoken to the DG @JmuKmrPolice that there is to be no ‘green corridor’ or traffic stoppage when I move anywhere by road.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelI have instructed him to minimize public inconvenience & the use of sirens is to be minimal. The use of any stick waving or aggressive gestures is to be totally avoided."

He also urged his fellow cabinet ministers to follow the same approach, emphasizing that their conduct must remain “people-friendly.” "We are here to serve the people & not to inconvenience them," Abdullah concluded in his message, signaling a clear focus on public service in the new administration.
