Pahalgam attack: CM Omar Abdullah Slams TRP-Driven Channels, Praises Jama Masjid’s Silent Tribute

SRINAGAR, Apr 25 (KNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has strongly criticized national news channels for spreading hatred against Kashmiris and ignoring moments of peace and solidarity in the region.

His remarks came after a moving gesture at Srinagar's historic Jama Masjid, where two minutes of silence were observed before Friday prayers to honour the victims of the Pahalgam attack.

“The silence that took place in Jama Masjid is a response to all those channels that are trying to spread poison against Kashmiris,” Abdullah said. “But unfortunately, these shameless channels will not show this because broadcasting such reality won’t help their TRPs.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He added that media houses hungry for high viewership should show the truth of what is happening in Jammu and Kashmir. “If they stop showing the reality from the Kashmir Valley, their TRP will drop. These channels spread hatred and lack the courage to show the truth,” he said.

Apologizing for his tone, the Chief Minister did not hold back, saying, “Some of these anchors are cowards. They don't support the truth. If they did, they would have shown how the people of Kashmir stood in solidarity at Jama Masjid.” (KNS)
