Srinagar, Feb 14 (KNS): Parents and students staged a protest in front Board of School Education (BOSE) office on Saturday, expressing frustration over the delay in issuing roll numbers for 22 students. The protest, which continued until late evening despite the cold weather, highlighted concerns about the future of the affected children.
According to the protesters, despite continuous communication and clear orders from the JKBOSE Chairman, the roll number tagging process remained incomplete. "It's 8:07 p.m., and we are still here. Parents and children have been waiting for hours in this cold weather," said one of the parents. "Many have already left, disheartened by the lack of action."
The parents alleged that despite an order from the Director of School Education, Dr. Itoo the board authorities failed to act. "The Director has given clear instructions for tagging these children, but the board chairman has not responded," said GN War, President of the Private Schools Association.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe questioned the indifference of the board authorities, adding, "Is this a case of government versus government? The court has also issued orders, but the board chairman is ignoring them."
War stated that the career of these 22 children hangs in the balance due to administrative inertia. "The board chairman's term has already ended, and the minister granted him a month's extension. We request the minister to intervene immediately and ensure these children get their roll numbers. If this issue is not resolved, parents and teachers will have no choice but to take to the streets," he warned.
The protesters urged the authorities to prioritize the matter and prevent further distress for the children and their families. The future of these students remains uncertain as the administrative stalemate continues. (KNS)
