Srinagar, January 04 (KNS): The passing of Shamima Hafiz, daughter of late Abdul Gani Hafiz, a prominent trade Union leader in Jammu and Kashmir, is a profound loss and the departure of a noble soul, said Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, CPI(M) leader and MLA Kulgam, on Saturday.
Tarigami said that Shamima Hafiz had been battling illness and passed away after a prolonged struggle. She was the daughter of a visionary leader who dedicated his life to championing the rights of the working class in J&K.

He further added, “Shamima Hafiz was also the sister of Hafiz Ayaz, Editor-in-Chief of Rising Kashmir. I have known this family closely and worked with late Hafiz for a number of years. Her passing is a great loss of a sombre and noble soul.”
Offering his condolences, Tarigami expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and paid tribute to Shamima Hafiz, acknowledging her as a noble soul whose loss is deeply felt.(KNS)
