Tahir Syed quits PDP
Srinagar, Sept 2 (KNS): Tahir Sayed, the spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), resigned from the party's basic membership on Monday.
Sayed, who had also served as a media consultant to former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti during the PDP-BJP coalition government, announced his decision on X (formerly Twitter).
“It is with a heavy heart that I write this unpleasant letter of resignation from the post of spokesperson and basic membership of the party,” Sayed posted on Monday. Sources suggest that his resignation was influenced by dissatisfaction with the party's decision to give a mandate to Mohammad Afzal Wani from the Tehgam constituency.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“With a heavy heart, I am ending my ten-year association with JKPDP and wish Mehbooba Mufti and the party all the best,” Sayed wrote. In his resignation letter, he reflected on his time in the party, stating, “It was a great and learning experience to serve the party and our people.”
Sayed concluded his resignation with a poignant Urdu couplet: “Tere badalne ka dukh nahi hai mujhe, Main to mere yakeen pe sharminda hun,” expressing his inner turmoil and disappointment. (KNS)
