Bandipora, June 30(KNS):  Workers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday staged a protest in north Kashmir's Bandipora district, accusing the National Conference (NC)-led government of making "backdoor appointments" through outsourcing and alleging that the move had deprived unemployed youth of fair job opportunities.

 

The protesters assembled in the town and raised slogans against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the Jammu and Kashmir government, demanding transparency in recruitment and the withdrawal of what they described as "illegal appointments."

 

Carrying placards and party flags, the protesters alleged that around 25,000 appointments had been made through outsourcing agencies without following a transparent recruitment process.

 

Addressing the protesters, PDP leaders accused the government of exploiting educated unemployed youth and bypassing merit-based recruitment.

 

"The government had promised transparent governance and employment for the youth, but instead it has opened the door for backdoor appointments.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThousands of outsourcing posts have allegedly been filled without giving deserving candidates a fair opportunity," Naseer Ahmad Rahi, Zonal president PDP said.

 

He alleged that unemployed youth across Jammu and Kashmir were "losing faith in the recruitment system" and demanded that all government jobs be filled through established recruitment agencies and competitive examinations.

 

"The youth are asking for jobs on merit, not appointments through the backdoor. The government must come clean on these alleged outsourcing appointments and ensure complete transparency," he said.

 

The protesters also accused the NC government of failing to address unemployment and said educated young people continued to wait for regular recruitment while contractual and outsourced engagements were allegedly being expanded.

 

The PDP warned that it would intensify its agitation if the government did not respond to its demands and order a transparent review of the alleged appointments.(KNS).
