Srinagar, Sep 2 (KNS) : Youth Congress President Srinagar Yasir Mandoo has strongly condemned the administration for what he termed its selective approach towards democratic protests, saying the right to peaceful assembly cannot be reserved for one political party.
Mandoo said it is deeply unfortunate that BJP workers were allowed to assemble at Lal Chowk for their Secretariat Gherao, while whenever Congress attempts to hold a peaceful protest, its leaders are placed under house arrest and workers are stopped at the party headquarters.
“The same Lal Chowk, the same roads and the same administration, but two completely different rules.

He added that such discriminatory treatment undermines democratic values and raises serious questions about the neutrality of the administration. He urged the authorities to uphold the Constitution by ensuring equal treatment for all political parties and respecting every citizen's right to peaceful protest. (KNS)
