Pulwama administration removes encroachment on road, DM warns encroachers

Pulwama February 14 (KNS):  The administration in Pulwama district has taken swift action to remove encroachments in the area, and the District Magistrate (DM) has issued a stern warning to encroachers.

Officials said a team led by Tehsildar Kakpora on the directions of DM Pulwama Dr Bashrat Qayoom removed encroachment on Ratnipora road, which had blocked the movement of transport in Ratnipora and other connecting villages.

Officials said a former lambardar had constructed a tin-shop on Ratnipora-Galbugh road, which blocked smooth movement of transport.

Officials said the administration's efforts are in line with the Supreme Court's judgement on encroachments, which empowers the government to remove illegal encroachments from land, streams, roads, footpaths, and public places.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

DM Pulwama Dr Bashrat Qayoom has advised people to remove encroachments on roads, footpaths, and irrigation channels.

"Administration will take strict measures against encroachers. Encroachment on roads and footpaths endangers lives and causes much inconvenience to the public," the DM said.

The DM's warning to encroachers serves as a deterrent to those who might attempt to encourage or occupy public spaces illegally.

Residents of Pulwama can now breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that their local administration is taking proactive steps to address encroachment issues.(KNS)
