Srinagar, Jan 04 (KNS): In a significant development for India's aviation sector, Mumbai-based RampWorks Aviation Private Limited is set to establish training centers in multiple states and Union Territories to prepare youth for careers in seaplane and airport operations, as well as cabin crew and the hospitality industry.
Founded by Siddharth Verma, a veteran with 32 years of experience in seaplane operations, the company will initially open centers in Jammu and Kashmir, the North-East, Himachal Pradesh, and Nagpur, Maharashtra. The flagship center is scheduled to begin operations in Srinagar, J&K, in February 2025.
The centers will offer specialized, intensive 90-day full-time training programs in three areas: ground handling of seaplane and airport operations, cabin crew training, and hospitality. These will include an additional 30-day on-job training. Each course will accommodate 25 students per batch, both male and female, who will be trained by international instructors with extensive experience in amphibious and wheeled aircraft.
What makes RampWorks unique is its comprehensive residential training program, combining classroom and on-the-job training with a 100% placement guarantee at competitive salaries. The company also offers India’s first composite training program for seaplane ground staff.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
In its second phase, planned for Q3 of 2025, RampWorks aims to launch India's first seaplane pilot training school in Kashmir, followed by a full-fledged flying training program in its third phase.
“Kashmir offers fantastic potential for seaplane operations. We have reserved 20% of seats in each course for Kashmiri students to empower local youth,” said Verma. Highlighting the government’s RCS-UDAN scheme, which has identified 79 water bodies for seaplane operations, Verma noted the immense demand for trained personnel in this emerging sector.
CEO of RampWorks, Nehal Vyas, emphasized the rigorous training programs that will ensure students are “industry-ready” from day one. “The flagship center in Srinagar will set the tone for the development of India’s seaplane ecosystem,” she said.
With plans to train 300 students annually at each center, RampWorks is also undertaking a roadshow to introduce its courses. The first roadshow is set for January 6 in Dehradun, followed by walk-in interviews at Hotel Sterling Marbella in the city.
The launch of the flagship center in Kashmir is expected to bolster the local economy, attract investments, and create significant employment opportunities for the region's youth.(KNS)
