Republic Day Celebrated Across Kashmir, LG Sinha unfurls flag at Jammu


Srinagar, Jan 26 (KNS): The 75th Republic Day celebrations in Jammu and Kashmir transpired peacefully as Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha hoisted the national flag at the M.A. Stadium in Jammu. 

Prior to the main event, he paid homage to martyrs at the Balidan Stambh. The parade showcased well-presented contingents from CAPFs, local police, home guards, and school children. Lt. Governor Sinha extended greetings on the occasion, emphasizing the nation's gratitude to its martyrs.

Highlighting positive developments, Sinha spoke of a transformative shift in various sectors, particularly tourism, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. In Srinagar, the Republic Day function at Bakshi Stadium featured Advisor R.R. Bhatnagar unfurling the national flag and overseeing the parade. Foolproof security measures were in place across Jammu and Srinagar, ensuring smooth proceedings. 

Public participation was encouraged, with no restrictions on movement or mobile usage in the Valley. The parade in Srinagar was complemented by cultural programs highlighting the unity in diversity of the two regions.

District headquarters throughout J&K hosted Republic Day functions without any untoward incidents. The day celebrated not just national pride but also the prevailing peace and development in the union territory.(KNS)
