Sadhotra visits Kathua, personally condoles deaths of 7 persons due to cloudburst

Kathua August 21 (KNS): National Conference Additional General Secretary and former minister Mr. Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today visited the cloudburst and flood-affected Ghati and Janglot areas to personally condole with the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the natural calamity that claimed seven precious lives.

During his interaction with the mourning families, Mr. Sadhotra expressed profound grief over the tragic loss, saying that no words were enough to describe the magnitude of the sorrow they were enduring. He said the entire people of Jammu and Kashmir, in general, and the cadre of the National Conference, in particular, stood in solidarity with the families at this dark hour of grief.

Mr. Sadhotra conveyed the heartfelt condolences of National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, who has expressed deep anguish over the loss of lives and prayed for courage to the families to bear the irreparable loss. He also said that Chief Minister Jenab Omar Abdullah is personally monitoring the relief and rehabilitation measures being undertaken in the affected areas to ensure that every possible support is extended to the victims and their families.

The National Conference Additional General Secretary said that tragedies of such magnitude shake the conscience of society and called for collective empathy and support.

“May the Almighty bestow the departed souls peace in the eternal abode, and their families strength and resilience to cope with the unbearable pain of separation,” he said, adding that it is the duty of all to stand shoulder to shoulder with those in distress.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

During his visit, Mr. Sadhotra also visited the Government Medical College Kathua to enquire about the condition of the injured undergoing treatment and wished them a speedy and complete recovery.

Mr Sadhotra sought alternate land for the 16 families of Jodh/Baddal villagers, as the land of their dwelling places has sunk. He also sought survey of 30 adjoining ivillages for assessing the damages for compensation. He said he will take up the matter with the Chief Minister and the Deputy Commissioner in this regard.

Mr Sadhotra also visited Panchayat Ghar Ghatti and met the residents of Manhas Mohalla. He assured that the issues raised would be taken up at the appropriate levels for redress so.

Mr Sadhotra also met Deputy Commissioner Kathua and discussed with him the issues of the affected villages.

Expressing solidarity, Mr. Sadhotra said the party leadership is committed to ensuring that relief reaches the needy promptly and rehabilitation is carried out effectively.
