Sagar rejects BJP’s remarks against NC as futile attempt to shift blame

Srinagar Jan 06 (KNS): The General Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Ali Muhammad Sagar Thursday rejected the remarks made by BJP MLA Sunil Sharma against the NC, calling it as a futile attempt to shift blame and save face amidst the deteriorating situation in the valley.

Sagar denounced the remarks made by Sharma during a workers' meeting at the party headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar, today. The meeting  was attended by Provincial Secretary Advocate Syed Tauqeer Ahmed,State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar and Dr. Mohammad Syed Makhdoomi,Vice President of District Srinagar.

In a scathing rebuke to Sharma, Sagar pointed out that the remarks are a blatant attempt by the BJP to shift blame and cover up their failures amidst the worsening security crisis in the Valley.

“It seems like they're more concerned with saving face than actually addressing the real issues at hand. It's like the pot calling the kettle black! The BJP has been in power and directly responsible for the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir for a decade now. They are the ones who need to answer to the people about the deteriorating situation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey are the ones who proudly claim that scrapping Article 370 has brought peace to the region. But where is this peace they speak of? It's been more than five years since the changes were made, and we're still waiting. All fingers point towards the BJP, as they continue to play the blame game. After all, the home department works directly under the Ministry of Home Affairs. It's time for some accountability,” Sagar said.

Speaking on the return of Kashmiri Pandits to the valley, Sagar had some tough questions for the BJP. He challenged them to provide a white paper detailing how many Kashmiri Pandits actually made their way back to Kashmir during their time in power.

Instead of progress, Sagar pointed out that the previous Omar Abdullah-led government's efforts to bring back the Pandits had been completely undone. “Under the BJP's rule, there were constant attacks on the Pandits, leading to many fleeing to Jammu for safety. So, where are the peace dividends that the BJP promised would come from their actions on August 5, 2019?” he added.(KNS)
