Chhatroo, February 05 (KNS):  Former Minister and senior leader Ghulam Mohammad Saroori conducted a tour of various areas in Tehsil Chhatroo, including Singhpora, Lonpora, Parna, Chingam, and Batwari, where he listened to public grievances and discussed development projects in detail.

The primary demand raised by the local people was the early construction of the Chhatroo-Singhpora Tunnel, which would help connect Jammu, Udhampur, Sudh Mahadev, Khaleni, Doda, Kishtwar, Chhatroo, Singhpora, Vailoo, and Khanabal. The locals emphasized that this tunnel is essential for eliminating travel difficulties, boosting trade links, and ensuring the overall development of the region.

Saroori carefully listened to the public concerns and assured them that he would strongly present their demand for the tunnel’s construction to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to expedite the implementation of this project. He stated that the tunnel would not only provide better travel facilities but also generate new employment opportunities and promote tourism in the region. He further mentioned that during his recent meeting with LG Manoj Sinha, he was assured that the tendering process for the tunnel would commence soon.

During the visit, the public also highlighted other pressing issues related to water, electricity, roads, health, and education. They pointed out that the poor condition of roads, scarcity of clean drinking water, frequent unannounced power outages, a shortage of teachers in schools, and the absence of doctors in medical centers were causing severe hardships for the people.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelSaroori assured them that he would take up these issues with the relevant authorities and make every possible effort to resolve them.
