SC Collegium Recommends CJ J&K, Ladakh HC Justice N Kotiswar Singh, Acting CJ Madras HC to Apex Court

Srinagar, July 13 (KNS): In a significant development, the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of two new judges to the Apex Court. Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court, Justice N Kotiswar Singh, and Acting Chief Justice of Madras High Court, Justice R Mahadevan, are set to join the Supreme Court bench.

The Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India, Justice DY Chandrachud, considered various factors, including seniority, merit, performance, integrity, and diversity, before making the recommendations.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The move aims to ensure representation from the North-East region, with Justice Singh becoming the first Judge from Manipur to be appointed to the Supreme Court.

The recommendations will now be sent to the Union Government for approval, following which the President will formally appoint the two judges to the Supreme Court. (KNS).
