Kreeri, Oct 16 (KNS): In an effort to promote sports culture and strengthen police-public relations, SDPO Kreeri, Shri Javid Ahmad, on Thursday inaugurated a Volleyball Tournament under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) in Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to reports, the tournament has been organized to encourage youth participation in sports and channel their energy towards positive and productive activities. A total of eight teams from different parts of the Sub-Division are taking part in the knockout-format competition.
The inaugural match was played between Al-Murad Kreeri and Wagura Club, in which Wagura Club won the toss and set the tone for an exciting start to the tournament.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe event was attended by SHOs of the Sub-Division and Tehsildar Kreeri, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, SDPO Kreeri said such events play a crucial role in nurturing local talent and building strong community bonds. “Baramulla Police remains committed to promoting sportsmanship and creating opportunities for youth engagement through community-oriented initiatives,” he said.
Winners and runner-up teams will be awarded trophies and cash prizes to further motivate the participants.(KNS)
