Security Forces Engage in Gunfight with Suspected Militants in Kathua

Kathua, Apr 1 (KNS): The Idian army on Tuesday said that Acting on intelligence inputs, the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF launched a surveillance and ambush operation in the Panjtirthi area of Kathua.


According to the army statement, suspicious movement was detected on the night of March 31, leading to an exchange of fire between security forces and suspected militants.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelFollowing the encounter, a Search and Destroy Operation was initiated at first light on April 1 to eliminate any remaining threats in the area.

The operation, codenamed 'OP SAFIYAN II,' is currently underway. Authorities have heightened security in the region to prevent any untoward incidents. (KNS)
