SED Restores Previous Academic Calendar for J&K

 Srinagar, Nov 06 (KNS): The government has directed the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) to conduct the 10th to 12th class examinations from February 2025, completing them by the end of March.

According to the order, the annual examination (summative assessment) for 8th class will be conducted by the respective schools starting from the 2024-25 academic session.

Principal Secretary of the School Education Department, Suresh Kumar Gupta, issued the order, a copy of which is available with NVI. The order instructs the concerned authorities to implement the November-December session for classes up to 9th standard.
The order states, “Pursuant to the Council of Ministers' decision, sanction is accorded to the restoration of the previous academic calendar (November-December session) for the Kashmir region and the winter zone of Jammu.”

“For the 2024-25 session, the previous academic calendar (November-December session) will apply to classes 1st to 9th, with examinations held during November-December 2024,” it reads.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“For classes 10th to 12th, the restoration of the academic session (to the November-December session) will begin from the 2025-26 academic session,” the order continues.

“The examinations for classes 10th to 12th will begin on February 15, 2025, and will be completed by the end of March 2025,” it adds.
The order also states that the annual examination (summative assessment) for class 8th will be conducted by the concerned schools from the 2024-25 academic session onward.

The restoration of the previous academic calendar, which follows the November-December session, was announced by the government earlier.(KNS).
