Bandipora, July 17(KNS): In a remarkable achievement that has brought pride to Bandipora district, 19-year-old Aiman Showkat of Kharpora has secured the 5th rank in Jammu and Kashmir in the NEET-UG 2026 examination, proving that determination, discipline and self-belief can overcome the need for expensive coaching.

 

 

Speaking about her journey, Aiman said she used YouTube and other digital resources to learn from different educators, tailoring her preparation according to her needs. She emphasized that quality of study mattered far more than the number of hours spent with books.

 

"I never believed in studying 16 or 18 hours a day. Around seven to eight hours of focused and productive study were enough for me. Understanding concepts and practising questions consistently made the real difference," she said.

 

She observed that NEET has become increasingly concept-based, especially in Physics and Chemistry, where conceptual clarity now carries greater importance than rote memorisation. Describing the moment the results were announced, Aiman said her family had gathered at their home in Kharpora, anxiously waiting for the outcome. She had hoped to secure a place among the top five candidates in Jammu and Kashmir, and her wish came true when the results were declared.

 

Expressing gratitude to her parents, teachers and everyone who supported her, Aiman encouraged future NEET aspirants to remain confident and ignore negativity.

 

"Believe in yourself, stay consistent and work with dedication. If you are sincere in your efforts, success will eventually come," she said.
