Seven Journalists, One Environmentalist Felicitated in J&K Republic Day Awards

Srinagar, Jan 26 (KNS): The government recognized the efforts of seven outstanding media professionals and one environmentalist, awarding them for their dedication and service to society on 76th Republic Day.


In the category of Outstanding Media Person, the government conferred awards upon seven journalists, each receiving a cash prize of ?51,000 and a citation. The awardees included Hafiz Ayaz Gani from Rising Kashmir, Yehya Sultan from News-18 (formerly associated with Kashmir News Service), Pooja Shali from India Today, Binoo Joshi from JK News Today, Asha Sarmal from Gulistan News, Rahil Gupta from Cross Town News, and Komal Singh Manhas, Bureau Chief of News-18. Their contributions to journalism were acknowledged for their role in delivering credible and impactful news to the public. In the environmental sector, Arif Shafi Wani, a well-known writer and environmentalist, was honored with the Outstanding Environmentalist Award. He was recognized for his consistent efforts in promoting environmental awareness and sustainability. Like the media awardees, he also received a cash prize of ?51,000 and a citation in recognition of his achievements.  

KNS Kashmir Editor-in-Chief M Aslam Bhat congratulated  Hafiz Ayaz Gani, Arif Shafi Wani and Yehya Sultan for their recognition, highlighting their dedication to responsible journalism and their significant contributions to the media fraternity.  (KNS)
