Srinagar, Dec 2 (KNS): In a heartwarming display of communal harmony, the Sikh community in Malerkotla, Punjab, has donated several acres of land to build a mosque, responding to a long-standing need from the local Muslim community.
This generous gesture comes at a time when Islamophobia is rising in parts of world, making the donation even more meaningful. Sikhs not only donated the land but also helped lay the foundation for the mosque.
According to reports, “For years, Muslims in Umerabad and Amargarh had no dedicated place to pray and had to pray outside. This was concerning, so the Sikh community decided to help,” said Amarjit Singh, a local Sikh resident.
Singh shared that the decision to donate the land was made unanimously by his family.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“The land is worth a lot, but no one in my family objected to donating it for the mosque,” he said.
