Srinagar, June 09 (KNS): The Sikh Coordination Committee has praised the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory administration for addressing the longstanding demand of the Sikh community by declaring holidays on June 10, 2024, in honor of the martyrdom day of Guru Arjun Dev Ji, and on June 22, 2024, to celebrate the birthday of Guru Har Gobind Sahib Ji. This decision, outlined in Government Order No. 1202-JK(GAD) of 2024 dated June 09, 2024, came about through the personal efforts of Shriman Mahant Manjit Singh Ji, head of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib.
The Sikh community worldwide, and particularly in J&K, remains devoted to Sri Akaal Takht Sahib, Amritsar, the highest temporal seat for Sikhs. Under the leadership of Shriman Mahant Manjit Singh Ji, the Sikh Sangat in J&K follows the guidelines and instructions issued by Sri Akaal Takht Sahib diligently. S. Ajit Singh Ji, Chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Sikh Coordination Committee, extended heartfelt thanks to the entire J&K administration. He urged the Sikh community to remain faithful and dedicated to the Supreme Authority of Sri Akaal Takht Sahib, adhering to its directives to promote unity and harmony among Sikhs globally.
