Srinagar, Aug 10(KNS): SKUAST-Kashmir under Public Private Partnership with Khyber Greens Pvt. Ltd to mitigate fodder scarcity has established State of Art Silage Production facility at KVK Ganderbal.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) this to effect was signed at Shalimar, Srinagar on Friday between SKUAST-Kashmir and M/s Khyber Green Private Limited. The MoU was signed for extension and inclusion of mutually beneficial collaborations to strengthen livestock sector in feed and fodder production, preservation and fortification activities.
The MoU was signed by Prof. D.M. Makdoomi on behalf of SKUAST-Kashmir and Mr. Rouf Tramboo on behalf of Khyber Green Pvt. Ltd in presence of Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-K
Under this MoU commercial production of silage shall be undertaken at KVK-Ganderbal, Shuhama to mitigate fodder scarcity and make available quality fodder to farmers associated with dairy and sheep sector.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThis collaboration shall help year the round availability of fodder, help in improvement of animal productivity and boost the economic returns and profitability of livestock sector. Others present during the MoU signing ceremony included, Dean, Faculty of Horticulture, Prof. Shabir Ahmad Wani, OSD to Vice Chancellor, Prof. Azmat Alam Khan, Officers of Directorate of Extension, Dr. Ishfaq Abidi, PC KVK Ganderabal and the scientific staff of the KVK.
Vice Chancellor expressed the hope that MoU will on one hand facilititate quality Animal feeding and at the same time boost entrepreneurship in Dairying Sector. He urged scientists to carry out the impact study of this novel intervention & dovetail the programme with the ongoing research projects. He also advocated replication of this novel intervention at other KVKs of the Valley.(KNS).
