Srinagar, July 31 (KNS): Director General of Police J&K R R Swain emphasized the importance of sports for youth engagement and praised the role of private entrepreneurship in promoting sports activities.
Speaking to reporters, Swain highlighted the positive impact of sports on physical health and team spirit.
"Sports is an activity which has competition, and it is a healthy competition. It also has team spirit. It is a physical exercise. And there is no bigger activity for youth than this in a positive engagement," DGP said.
He lauded the efforts of J&K Police in promoting sports, saying, "J&K Police has a history of promoting sports and sporting activities.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelIt should be promoted well among youngsters. So, we would like to support every such opportunity."
The DGP also expressed his appreciation for the involvement of private parties and the Gurudwara committee in supporting the national hockey game.
"I really liked it. It is a hockey national game. And there are private parties in it. I heard that the Gurudwara committee is supporting it. There is a spirit that there is private entrepreneurship outside the government in sports," he added.(KNS)
