Srinagar, October 13 (KNS): In a continued crackdown on banned organisations, Srinagar Police on Monday carried out coordinated search operations at several locations linked to individuals allegedly associated with the proscribed Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) and Hurriyat Conference.
According to police, the searches were conducted at the residences of the following individuals:
1. Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat alias Goga Shahib or Mushtaqul Islam, son of Gh. Qadir Bhat, resident of Kashi Mohalla, Batamaloo.
2. Ashraf Sehrai, son of Mohd. Shumasdin, resident of Baghat.
3. Mehrajuddin Kalwal alias Raj Kalwal, son of Mohammad Amin Kalwal, resident of Rainawari Kalwal Mohalla, A/P Hamza Colony, Kenihama (presently in NIA custody).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
4. Zameer Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, resident of Gulshan Nagar, Nowgam.
Police said the searches were conducted strictly as per legal procedures. During the raids, several items including literature and photographs allegedly linked to banned separatist outfits were seized.
Officials said these operations are part of a wider effort to dismantle the terror and separatist ecosystem in the Valley by targeting its support networks and sympathisers.
Srinagar Police reaffirmed its resolve to maintain peace and public order, stating that action will continue against individuals or groups found involved in unlawful or anti-national activities.(KNS)
