Srinagar, July 13 (KNS): In a major crackdown on human trafficking, the Baramulla Police have successfully dismantled a human trafficking racket in Ushkara, Baramulla.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Amod Nagpuri (IPS), provided details of the operation, revealing that two accused have been arrested and minor females have been rescued.
SSP stated, "Acting on a tip from a reliable source, Baramulla Police Station busted a human trafficking module. During the interrogation, one of the accused, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, confessed to selling a girl to Mehraj Ahmad Tantray, a resident of Kanlibagh.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"
The investigation led to a subsequent raid at Tantray's house, where another minor victim, a girl from the Rohingya community of Burma, was found and rescued. "The police have arrested both Shakeel Ahmad Bhat and Mehraj-u-Din Tantray," SSP Nagpuri confirmed.
