Srinagar, Feb 15 (KNS): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, has called on society to unite in the fight against the drug menace.
Speaking to reporters at a sports event in the city’s North Zone, the SSP emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing the root causes of drug abuse. He noted that while the police work diligently to curb the illegal drug trade, societal participation is crucial.
“The participation of the public, especially children, in this event shows that everyone is committed to ensuring peace, and our children must have a future free from the dangers of drugs,” Mir said.

He also pointed to recent police initiatives that demonstrate their commitment to community welfare, such as financial support for a school for the deaf and mute and the donation of a laptop to a girl in need.
Mir reiterated that a drug-free society requires a unified approach, urging parents, educators, and community leaders to work alongside law enforcement to protect the younger generation from falling prey to substance abuse. (KNS)
