Srinagar, Sept 15 (KNS): Congress spokesperson Vivek Tankha assured the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the Congress-NC alliance is committed to restoring statehood to the region and ending the "darkness" of the last ten years of BJP rule.
Tankha emphasized that statehood is the right of the people of J&K and pledged to achieve it at any cost.
He appealed to the people to vote for the Congress-NC alliance to bring about good governance based on justice, equality, and accountability.
Tankha highlighted the Congress party's track record of respecting Kashmiris and Kashmiriyat, saying, "Only the Congress party has given respect to Kashmiris and Kashmiriyat, and this has to continue."

He even offered to plead their case in the party, Supreme Court, and High Court to ensure equal salary and benefits.
Khera discussed the seven guarantees of the Congress party's election manifesto, which include good governance, justice, equality, and accountability, he said according to KNS correspondent.
He also mentioned his private bill for the welfare of Kashmiri pandits, which has been admitted in parliament.
Recalling the package announced by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the welfare of Kashmiri pandits, Khera noted that it was the biggest package of its kind and that no subsequent government had matched it. (KNS).
