Tahir Sayeed joins National Conference, says 'NC strong force to counter BJP'

Kupwara, September 12, (KNS): Former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tahir Sayeed, officially joined the National Conference (NC) . The announcement was made in Kupwara in the presence of the NC's Vice President and former Chief Minister of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah.

Sayeed's departure from the PDP, which he had been associated with for over a decade, came last month following a series of differences with the party. In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Sayeed expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome he received from the NC leadership. He wrote, "Started a new political journey. Grateful to @JKNC_ VP @OmarAbdullah and @nasirsogami for welcoming me into the party fold. At a time when our identity and resources are under attack, it is imperative that we strengthen a political party capable of fighting these nefarious  designs." (KNS)
